Description
Explore and photograph the wonderful Isle of Skye. I have visited the island on many occasions, and am familiar with both the popular and less known locations - you'll get to explore my favourite spots, taught how to observe and 'see' striking compositions and capture anything we see on the way! As well as great photography on Skye, you have the option of exploring Glencoe and the West Coast of Scotland with me on the way to Skye.
I book a cottage in a fabulous location in the heart of the Cuillin mountains for a week and split the week into 2 parts, offering workshops from Saturday to Wednesday and Wednesday to Saturday. This is the longer version; offering flexibility and the opportunity to revisit locations in great light!
Sat 17th - Weds 11th March 2020: 4/5 Day Workshop
This 4 day workshop has the promise of great spring light, ideal for a range of photographic opportunities. We'll be spending time at each location; exploring familiar places and getting more off the beaten track and away from the familiar viewpoints (for example exploring the ridge above The Old Man of Storr, the Trotternish Ridge and potentially a high mountain walk through the Red Cuillins).
Within the workshop we're able to accommodate a range of knowledge and experience but your primary interest will be a love of the landscape and a wish to interpret it though your photography. We will cover a range of photographic subjects and themes, developing your range of knowledge and skills and explore your own preferences.
You'll be shown how to use natural light and to look for simplicity in composition. You'll be capturing long exposure, night sky and time lapse photography during the workshops and I'll do my best to take your photography to a new level! More than anything, you'll be encouraged to think of ideas that will enable you to develop your own style.
Prices: €825 PP or €1,450 for Two booking Together. These prices include accommodation: there is also the option of a trip excluding accommodation, allowing you to choose your own.

Navan CC (Ireland) hosted a zoom presentation on the "Essentials of Composition in Landscape photography" by NF on 21st September. His talk was clear, concise, very informative and entertaining. His presentation had something for photographers of all levels of skill and experience. I would strongly recommend him for this presentation our club is looking forward to booking him for his other presentations, which is a recommendation in itself.
