About your local photographer

I am a renowned Yorkshire photographer and devote my on-line digital presentation to photographs which have garnered medals and awards consistently over the last decade, as well as those which I am proud of but which competition failed to appreciate.

I have focused my photography for the most part on producing unique photographs created by compositing my images together, to form a narrative scene. I subject each of the images to considerable creative manipulation before combining them to make the final composite photograph. In my presentation I take us through the stages involved in this process, not only in the technical details of the manipulations I use but perhaps even more revealingly in the creative vision which I apply at every stage. The whole process begins with a photograph of a model or models, usually posed in ambient light. My artistic vision enables me to construct a novel complex pictorial scenario in my mind just from my creative analysis of the poses and features of the models in my photographs from the outset.

In my talks, I takes us through examples of my work which illustrates my approach and my workflow. From a shaven-headed angular model in a warehouse transformed into a beautiful mermaid with flowing locks and an equally flowing tail basking above and below the waves to a series of imposing women of Norse and Celtic mythology brandashing weapons and often mounted on horseback in scenes from the mythological sagas. My most complex examples of the two ladies of gentile persuasion, born of a certain period of time, inhabiting their own little fantasy world are shown in a series of composite photographs, acting out their modern adventures all from the comfort of their living room!
